Register for February 10 Webinar: Advancing Boreal Peatland Restoration in Western Canada with Bin Xu, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Date & Time
February 10, 2026, 2:00 p.m. CT
Abstract
The boreal peatlands of western Canada are globally significant ecosystems that store large amounts of carbon, regulate hydrology, and provide an important habitat for wildlife, including woodland caribou. Resource exploration and development, such as forestry and oil and gas, have created extensive and persistent disturbances within peatland landscapes. Among these, well pads and seismic lines (including winter roads) associated with in situ oil and gas activities represent the most widespread footprint types and are central to current reclamation and restoration efforts
