The 2019 ASMR annual meeting will take place in Big Sky, Montana. In addition to the traditional oral technical presentations, we are excited to announce a new idea for presentations at the 2019 conference: technical video sessions. We invite all of you to create and submit videos showcasing your reclamation related work. As with conventional presentations, an abstract and the video submittal form need to be submitted; see the Call for Abstracts for details.
Videos should be between 5 and 20 minutes long and can be supplemented with an oral presentation (optional). A traditional Q&A will follow. We invite you to be creative with this new approach. You can incorporate maps, still photos, time-lapse video, side-by-side comparisons, drone footage, narration, music, or whatever you feel best represents your work in video form. The top videos will be featured, and presenters will be given awards, at the Reclamation Film Festival on Wednesday night of the conference. After the abstracts are accepted, videos should be uploaded to YouTube and the links sent to Robert Darmody - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Planned technical session topics that you can use for inspiration may include geomorphic reclamation, ecological restoration, ecological engineering, hard rock mine reclamation, oil and gas reclamation, coal mine reclamation, reclamation of alternative energy development, stream restoration, wildfire restoration, reclamation soil science, abandoned mine reclamation, contaminated land reclamation and remediation, technology/GIS/data management, reclamation in challenging environments, reclamation water quality and treatment challenges, and reclamation challenges with acid-forming materials.
KC Harvey Environmental LLC is organizing and hosting the 2019 conference and will be coordinating the technical video submissions. If you have any questions about the videos, please contact Rachel Schmidt (email@example.com). Thank you!
